Today marks the 413th Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji which is celebrated across the world with prayers, recital of Shabads and Kirtan praising the almighty.  The Adi Granth/Guru Granth Sahib Ji was first compiled by the fifth Sikh Guru Arjan Dev Ji, from hymns of the first five Sikh gurus and other great saints, including those of the Hindu and Muslim faith.  The term guru comes from the Sanskrit guru, meaning teacher, guide or mentor. The traditions and philosophy of Sikhism were established by ten specific gurus from 1507 to 1708. Each guru added to and reinforced the message taught by the previous, resulting in the creation of the Sikh religion.  On this Auspicious day let's take a look at our Guru's family history which every Gursikh, Gurmukh, Singh, Kaurs and kids should be or are familiar with this.
